Day 79 – Zimbabwe

It’s the final day of Michael’s 79 days of abstinence! To mark the last day of the challenge, we’re looking at the lack of LGBTQ rights in Zimbabwe.

People who identify as LGBTQ in Zimbabwe face discrimination against their sexuality and gender identity that is not experienced by heterosexual residents. Anyone who is found to be guilty of same-sex sexual activity can face a penalty of imprisonment or torture.

Michael has abstained from meat, fish and sugary treats for 79 days! We would like to say a BIG thank you to Michael for raising awareness of the lack of LGBTQ rights around the world. If you would like to show your support and sponsor Michael, you can click here. All of the money raised from the 79 days challenge will go to Breakout Youth, a charity that supports LGBTQ young people in Southampton, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight by helping the young people to build their confidence and accept who they are.
