Day 55 – Sierra Leone

It’s day 55 of Michael’s 79 days of abstinence from meat, fish and sugary treats. Today represents Sierra Leone, a country people who identify as LGBTQ face legal challenges not experienced by heterosexual residents.

Male homosexuality is illegal in Sierra Leone and is punishable with up to life imprisonment. For women, on the other hand, homosexuality is legal.
