According to section 155 of Zambia’s Penal Code, same-sex sexual activity between people of the same gender is illegal in Zambia. Anyone who is found to be guilty of homosexual acts can face up to 14 years imprisonment. Social attitudes towards LGBTQ people are mostly negative, with a survey conducted in 2010 revealing that only 2% of Zambians find homosexuality to be morally acceptable.
